I also decided that one of the reasons work is getting to me is that I’m constantly working. Even when I am home, I’m doing laundry, dishes, taking care of 3 cats and a dog, and cleaning. So I am going to take this entire weekend to do things I like, like writing blogs, reading my new book, and avoiding TV and the internet because I will kill anyone who tries to spoil the book for me in any way.

I don’t know why I feel like I always need to be doing something, or that things have to be perfect. It’s not the end of the world if the dishes sit in the sink for a little while. Besides, I am one of those lucky girls that has a man who more than pulls his weight in the taking care of the house department.

Speaking of weight, that’s my next random thought as I wait for Harry. I’m not fat, or overweight, in the general sense of the word. I’m 5’4″, ok more like 5’3 and a half”, and the weight that I think is the best for me is 125, give or take a few pounds.

125 is just about perfect – not so skinny my hipbones are sticking out and my boobs and curves go away, but thin enough that I think my clothes look good and I don’t feel self-conscious. I’ve been as low as 110, 105, and it was not pretty, unless you are into the waif look.

So, I can’t believe I am going to announce it to the world, but right now, as of this morning I weigh 147. Yikes. This is the fattest I’ve ever been. And my wedding is slightly less than 4 months away.

I have been trying to lose weight for about 6 months in a half-assed sort of way. I have not consistently exercised and I have absolutely no excuse for that – there is an elliptical machine and a treadmill in our spare room. Plus a TV, handweights, and workout DVD’s of the Buns of Steel variety.

I also know how to eat right, I just can’t seem to stick with it. So, I have decided to take drastic measures. I am going on Nutrisystem. Expensive, yes, but basically effortless and guaranteed to work for me. I know Weight Watchers has a great reputation (and can be free online) but I know for a fact that I will not follow through with all that counting.

With Nutrisystem you pick out the foods you want, and they deliver them to your house. No planning involved, very little cooking, very little shopping. Which will take away all the excuses I am so good at coming up with. I ordered last night, and my food should be coming sometime next week.

Oh, did I mention there’s no alcohol on Nutrisystem. God help me.

So I will be starting after Camping ’07, which is next weekend. And to all the other camping ladies – rest assured that none of you will be the fattest girl there. That will be me.

Next random thought – my wedding dress arrived at my mom’s house yesterday. I ordered it online, so I was a little nervous that it would not be as pretty as it looked in the picture. But it is gorgeous – I love it. It will “fit” now, but it will look awesome in 15 pounds. No pics though – Jerrad is not allowed to see it until I’m walking down the aisle. See, we are being traditional about some things.

Damn it, where is that mailman?

UPDATE:

Yippee! It’s here! And it was the UPS guy, not the mailman. My bad. I realized that Amazon ships by UPS, then I started to panic a little because our doorbell doesn’t work.

What if I don’t hear the bell? What if he doesn’t leave the book and takes it with him? Jerrad suggested making sure Jellydog was inside, because then her barking would alert me. Good plan.

We were in the kitchen trying to figure out what to do for breakfast (lunch at this point?) and she started furiously barking. So I immediately ran towards the door and for some reason, Jerrad was in front of me walking real slow toward the door.

Umm, I’m embarrassed to say that I actually yelled “move!” and pushed him out of the way.

Whatever, he was totally doing it on purpose.

The UPS guy had left the book on the porch and was already walking to his truck. So I yelled “Thank you!” because he is probably really sick of Harry Potter and Amazon.com at this point. I hope everyone else out there waiting for their book is being nice to the UPS guy.

I’m anxious to start reading, and more than a little sad that this is the last one.

PS. I still can’t believe I told you all what I weigh. I’m so not posting any “before” pictures. There will be plenty of those coming next weekend when I have to swim. In a suit. Gulp.
